🌞 Behind the Seams: A Day in the KA Love Studio

Most people only see the finished bikini: cute, stylish, (Hopefully) perfectly stitched, and ready to live its best life at the beach or pool. But behind every KA Love piece is… me. A one-woman swimwear operation with a collection of sewing machines, a stack of patterns, and a fabric collection that definitely qualifies as a personality trait.

Every bikini I make is crafted in my sunny Florida home studio. No outsourcing. No hidden factory (although we do refer to my studio as "The Factory" around here). No “production team.” Just handmade swimwear created by my actual hands.

And yes… the dogs usually supervise (snoring counts as supervision).

 

☀️ Inside My Florida Swimwear Studio

My studio is where all the magic happens. I prefer no blinds on the windows so the natural light can pour in and I can have unobstructed views of our lush backyard oasis. I love my space, but trying to find room for all the beautiful fabrics I collect is my biggest challenge.

It’s part creative space, part fabric jungle, and part “how do I already need more storage?” but I love every inch of it... even if I'm always moving my machines and tables around in order to find that elusive "perfect" working arrangement.

2. I cut your bikini by hand

No mass production, no batch cutting, no shortcuts. Just careful pattern placement (one of my favorite parts of the process!), perfect stretch alignment, and a whole lot of attention to detail.

3. Stitching everything together

This is where your bikini becomes your bikini. I use high-quality elastic and professional swimwear construction so your suit fits beautifully and lasts longer.

4. The final check

This is where my inner perfectionist thrives. Every seam, curve, and stitch gets looked over more than once… sometimes twice… maybe three times. If it ain't just right? Well, let's just say I've got a nice collection of seam rippers that I'm not afraid to use.
